A delightful coincidence lead me to pick up The Bone Ships. It was the first book I received in a bespoke book subscription I purchased and the blurb on the back of the book had me interested. Cut to a few months later, and I get approved for the second book in the trilogy on Netgalley. I decided to dive into this series and read the first two books close together.

Bookish Blether: Re-reading
Usually when I decide I'm going to re-read a book, a long time has passed between the last read through and the current one. As part of my project to read all of the books I own physically I have been re-reading my favourite series from when I was younger to document them on Goodreads… Continue reading Bookish Blether: Re-reading
Review: The Bone Ships by RJ Barker
A delightful coincidence lead me to pick up The Bone Ships. It was the first book I received in a bespoke book subscription I purchased and the blurb on the back of the book had me interested. Tome Topple Round 13
I'm going to use Tome Topple to try and reinject my year with reading motivation. I seemed to take October and half of November off for a holiday from reading. I am close to reaching my goal for the year so I'm going to try and make the second half of November finish with a bang! Tome Topple is a readathon dedicated to reading long books, so anything over 500 pages counts!

Blether Breakdown: Hoachin’
As part of my launching my blog properly I wanted to add in more interesting or unique blog features. Bear with me, some of these connections from the meaning of the word to the idea for the list might be a little loose.
Review: The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
Sometimes I get in the mood to specifically read a hardback book. Majority of the books I own are paperbacks, and I prefer to read a paperback book, but I have collected a fair amount of hardbacks in the past few years. Usually that means these books are gifts, highly anticipated so I couldn't wait… Continue reading Review: The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin
November TBR
It's time for my reading plans for November, and I am so close to my goal of 100 books in 2020! I originally had a stretch goal of 125 books, but I don't know if I would be able to hit that goal anymore.
Review: Red Sister by Mark Lawrence
In 2020 I tried Mark Lawrence's first trilogy, following a psychotic young man as he tries to reclaim his throne. Or at least that is what I think the plot was, because the book really didn't work for me. I was determined to love Red Sister, and the glowing reviews all over Goodreads indicated that I had a good chance.
Review: The Little Friend by Donna Tartt
August 2020 was not going well for me in terms of reading - I'd lost steam about 10 days into the month and never managed to make it back. For a last ditch effort to regain some enthusiasm I decided to read whatever my heart desired and abandon my tbr. I wanted something dark like… Continue reading Review: The Little Friend by Donna Tartt
